You can reach us at the same address with any questions about data protection. No data protection officer has been appointed, as there is no legal obligation to do so.

2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. When pages are accessed, Netlify processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the page accessed, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page (referrer). This is required to deliver the website securely and reliably.

• Legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR
• Storage period: according to Netlify's specifications, usually only briefly
• Transfer to third countries: Netlify is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the EU Standard Contractual Clauses also apply. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Netlify.

3. Fonts

The fonts used are stored locally on our server. No connection to Google or any other font provider is made when you visit the website.

4. Contact form and email

If you write to us via the contact form or by email, we process your name, your email address and your message in order to answer your enquiry. The form is transmitted and stored via Netlify Forms (see section 2). An invisible check field keeps automated spam away; no captcha service is used.

• Storage period: until the enquiry has been dealt with, at most 3 years after the last contact

5. Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services and stores no data in your browser. For this reason, no cookie notice is required.

6. Links to external websites

We link to The Shen Society (theshensociety.com and de.theshensociety.com), the Vegan Skyrider shop, Animal Eden e.V., Substack, YouTube and Instagram. These are simple links; no content from these services is embedded. Only when you click a link are you taken to the respective provider's website, which is responsible for its own data processing.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)). Under French law, you can also give instructions on how your data should be handled after your death.

You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority – in particular in the country where you live. The authority responsible for us is the French authority:

9. Automated decisions
